Best Ways To Promote Your Music

May 09, 2008 By: admin Category: free advice, music related, useful information No Comments →

Hire someone to do it for you…

No one will come to your website though if you just set it up and leave it there. You need to get the traffic to the site so people will sit up and take notice of how great your band is. This can be accomplished in several ways including posting on music related forums, linking to other music sites and submitting the site to search engines. If you are more concerned with writing and recording music than worrying about the website, hire someone to do it for you. The minimal investment you’ll make will be well worth the additional traffic to your website and resulting interest in your music. The Internet really does offer unlimited possibilities for people who want to have their songs heard. You just need to think about how to promote your music online so that the people who will potentially enjoy it will actually get a chance to hear it.

You can add musician or band profiles….

Having your own website is also one of the best ways to get your music heard. By setting up a website you are going to have the ability to showcase your work. You can add musician or band profiles, clips of music and even a music video if you’ve had the benefit of making one. You can hire a web designer to create a site that reflects the feel of your music. When you are thinking about how to promote your music online, don’t forget this important step.

You can create a full profile…

Anyone who has a profile on one of the social networking sites, like MySpace or Facebook is likely already aware of the fact that there are some fantastic musicians hanging out on there. MySpace is really the place you need to be if you want to know how to promote your music online. You can create a full profile, upload your music and start inviting friends. One quick glance at some of the musician profiles on MySpace reveals thousands of friends. Many of these people are listening to this music and in some cases people who started their recording careers on MySpace are being offered recording deals.

There is a lot you can do to ensure your future success…

Years ago it seemed that the only way to make it big in the music world was by being signed by a major record label. Of course no one is disputing that this approach can indeed launch a successful singing career but it’s no longer the only way to make it big as a musician. If you are a budding singer, songwriter or musician there is a lot you can do to ensure your future success. If you want to know how to promote your music so that you get the most exposure possible, look to the Internet.

Get Your RV Ready for Spring

Brought to you by Good Sam Club RV Road Service

Winter elements can take a toll on stored RVs.

If your coach has been in storage, now is the time to start preparing for those spring getaways. Taking a little time now will help ensure enjoyment all through the year.

Before hitting the road complete this RV spring-prep checklist:

Begin with a thorough exterior inspection. Examine the outside, including the body and roof, for any cracks or separation and look inside for stains on the ceiling, sure signs of roof leaks. Look beneath the coach and/or or tow vehicle for signs of fuel or other fluid leaks.

Once you’ve determined there are no exterior leaks, wash the RV with a specially formulated soap designed for the exterior. Work in the shade, since washing a hot surface can result in hard-to-remove spots and streaks. Use specialized wheel cleaners to make tires and trim look new.

An RV that’s been stored all winter needs to be aired out. Vacuum the carpet and clean the floors and other surfaces as needed.

Spring prep should include a fluid and connections check. Look for insect and rodent nests and chewed wires and hoses. Check the amount of LP gas and test appliances for proper functioning.

Drain and flush the freshwater tank. Add 1/4 cup of household bleach for each 15 gallons of capacity. Then fill the tank almost to capacity, leaving room for sloshing. Drive or tow the coach to mix the bleach. Run the hot water to get the bleach through the water heater. Then drain the freshwater tank. Refill, along with 1/4 of baking soda per 15 gallons. Drive or tow to mix the water, run the hot water, then drain and refill with fresh water. Test the water pump and water system, including the water heater.

On motor homes, generators and tow vehicles, change the oil and filter and perform all recommended services according to the owner’s and maintenance manuals.

Batteries should be check for electrolyte level and connections should be removed, cleaned and after re-assembly, treated with an anticorrosive product.

Make sure all of the lug nuts are secure, check tires for cracks and other damage and set inflation pressures. Trailers should have the wheel bearings repacked.

Replace batteries and test smoke alarms and carbon monoxide detectors. Check the gauges on fire extinguishers. Check and refill your first aid and emergency kits. An emergency kit should include: flares, a gas can, reflective triangles, duct tape, jumper cables, wheel chocks, flashlight and basic hand tools.

Stock up with necessities for cooking, cleaning and entertaining. Review kitchen equipment and the inventory of favorite games, books, cards, puzzles, CDs, DVDs or videos.

Best Online Restaurant Supply Store: Instawares.com

April 30, 2008 By: admin Category: business information, free advice, useful information No Comments →

There are positives and negatives associated…

As with any other kind of business, restaurant supply stores vary in size, products offered, prices, and quality of service. There are small restaurant supply stores that carry only basic equipment such as refrigerators and kitchen hoods, as well as large, national restaurant supply stores that carry just about everything and anything that you could possibly want in your eatery. There are positives and negatives associated with each type of restaurant supply store, so you’re going to have to choose one based on your particular needs. For example, if you deal with a small outfit, the product selection will likely be pretty limited and you won’t be able to get as much of a price break. However, you’re more likely to get personalized service, immediate attention, and fast delivery and installation.

Try with Instawares Restaurant Supply has 400,000+ items for your cooking and office needs.

The last thing you need is for a piece of equipment to break down to add to your worries..

Operating an eating establishment is notoriously one of the toughest jobs on the planet. That’s because there are so many variables that you have to try to control on a daily basis. From ensuring timely delivery of food and beverages to monitoring compliance with health and safety standards to dealing with personnel issues among the staff, there’s always something that requires your attention. The last thing you need is for a piece of equipment to break down to add to your worries. However, something like that is bound to happen sooner or later, and when it does, you’re going to have to deal with restaurant supply stores.

An invaluable resource to have on your side..

That’s because many restaurant supply stores go out of their way to reward long-time customers with price breaks and preferential treatment. In fact, it’s not unheard of for restaurant supply stores to extend their best customers a generous line of credit when times are tough. That’s obviously an invaluable resource to have on your side. So when it comes time for you to choose one or two restaurant supply stores to work with, don’t just pick the first one that you see in the yellow pages or in your Internet search results. Instead, take some extra time to find out a few things about the restaurant supply store’s reputation and service record. Doing so can save you from some major headaches in the future

That it’s crucial to establish a good working relationship…

If you deal with a national chain, you’ll have a wide variety of merchandise to choose from and you’ll be able to score some nice discounts. But the service probably won’t be the best and if you have a problem with the equipment, you might have to go through a lot of red tape to get things fixed. No matter which kinds of restaurant supply stores you choose to do business with, anyone who has been in the food service industry for a while will tell you that it’s crucial to establish a good working relationship with a supplier.

Hurricane Catrina, Just Small Part Of Inconvinient Truth!

April 28, 2008 By: admin Category: better future, education, educational resource, useful information No Comments →

It was upgraded to tropical storm status early on August 24th, and became a hurricane on the 25th…

The fourth major hurricane of the 2005 hurricane season, and the first to reach a category 5 status (using the Saffir-Simpson Hurricane Scale), hurricane Katrina began its life as a tropical low pressure system over the Bahamas on August 23rd. It was upgraded to tropical storm status early on August 24th, and became a hurricane on the 25th. Also on the 25th, it made a landfall on the southwestern Florida coast. It weakened back into a tropical storm before moving back over the gulf and regaining its hurricane strength. It was then predicted to continued northward and eventually hit the Florida panhandle, but rather it moved westward and eventually landed right over New Orleans. Before it landed, it rapidly intensified into a category five hurricane, causing sustained winds of 175 miles per hour, and gusts reaching over 215 miles per hour

Deadliest Hurricane America has ever seen… what caused it?

So far, Hurricane Katrina was the third most deadly hurricane the United States has ever witnessed, the first being the Galveston Hurricane in 1900, and second being the Okeechobee Hurricane of 1928. The official death toll has reached 1400 lives, with many thousands more still missing. When the toll is finally complete, Katrina may turn out to have been the deadliest Hurricane America has ever seen. Beyond the death count, the damage done to property by Katrina is certainly the worst ever caused by a hurricane; practically the entire city of New Orleans was destroyed in its wake.

Most destructive hurricane…Hurricane Katrina Casualties

For this reason, hurricane Katrina has earned its title of third most destructive hurricane seen by America, even though it was only the third most powerful storm of the season. Hurricane Katrina waned as it traveled over the coast of Louisiana and Mississippi, but not before causing considerable damage to several other settlements in the region, including Jackson, Mississippi. Even after being downgraded to a depression, it caused major rains throughout its travel north all the way up to Quebec, Canada, before finally being absorbed.

Flooding and wind damage…

When it landed on August 29th, it was downgraded to a category four hurricane, but nonetheless caused an enormous amount of damage. Katrina itself passed over New Orleans with the usual flooding and wind damage caused by hurricanes. The majority of the damage and deaths caused were a result of New Orleans’s levee bursting after the storm had passed. The city, being below sea level, was then flooded by water from the ocean, causing irreparable damage to nearly 80 percent of the cities structures and forcing all of its surviving occupants to relocate.

Collecting Antique Furniture Reproductions

April 26, 2008 By: admin Category: free advice, home improvement, useful information No Comments →

More impressive and classy…

I have quite a variety of antique reproduction furniture. I started my collection of antique furniture reproductions early, you see, and have been really putting them together since college. My mom bought me a false mission chair when I went away to school. It was surprisingly inexpensive, and was quite an elegant design. It wasn’t my favorite chair in college – it wasn’t all that comfortable for sprawling around in or lying back on – but it did make my room look more impressive and classy. I went through a period collecting antique furniture reproductions modeled after Chinese furniture.

I’d much rather live in my own time…

Most of the people I know who collect antiquities for sale are fans of age itself. They do not simply seek something with a novel design – they seek something that is part of an ancient world. I don’t quite understand the thrill that gives them, but it seems to be very powerful. I imagine that it allows them to pretend that they aren’t of their own time and live a vicarious life in the past through their possessions. My interest in this kind of stuff is much different. I mostly collect antique furniture reproductions. You see, I don’t really particularly admire the past. I’d much rather live in my own time. We have all these modern conveniences that I wouldn’t be able to do without. Nonetheless, I do like some of the more classical aesthetics.

Handmade and original…

My favorite piece isn’t actually an antique furniture reproduction, but a reconstructed antique. It is a brass bed frame I bought, and it had actually been rebuilt from an original. Half of it have been handmade by someone and half of it was from the actual original design. It cost a lot more than my other antique furniture reproductions. Nonetheless, it was worth it. Nothing beats a beautiful, ornamental bed frame.

Red ones with the wide open shelves…

I particularly liked those Asian cabinets that you see. I’m talking about the red ones with the wide open shelves and the small delicate doorknobs. They have the simple beauty to them that you don’t really see even in modern furniture. There is an antique reproduction furniture store down the block, and I spend a lot of time there. It’s pretty unusual to find a store that really specializes in antique furniture reproductions. It seems like a pretty niche market, and it’s strange to think that our community can support a store that only does that. Still, I’m grateful for it. Many of my best finds have come out of that place.

Orpheum Theater Minneapolis : Impressive Past, Numerous Concerts

April 22, 2008 By: admin Category: fun and entertainment, useful information No Comments →

An impressive past…

The building opened its doors back in 1921 and it was then called the Hennepin Theater. The restoration was started in 1993 and revealed the craftsmanship of the original with its elaborate plasterwork in the auditorium, garlands and other decorative features. The Orpheum Theater Minneapolis has an impressive past, presenting numerous concerts, musicals and plays over the years. In recent years, there has been popular productions of Miss Saigon, Beauty and the Beast and Disney’s Lion King.

The audience can enjoy the productions…

To see an historic theater go into decline is very sad and so it is good to see the restoration work of the Orpheum Theater Minneapolis. It is one of three theaters to be restored on Hennepin Avenue, the other two being the Pantages Theater and the State Theater. The Orpheum seats 1,500 people on the main floor and 1,100 on the balcony. Now, the audience can enjoy the productions as they were meant to be seen, in a theater brought back to its full glory.

These three theaters all practice an inclusive policy, welcoming everyone from the community…

This theater district is an important part of the cultural life of Minneapolis. Patrons can also enjoy special deals at local participating restaurants. The area has many fine eating houses, including Italian, Asian, Spanish tapas and a grillhouse. On the last Saturday of each month, there is a walking tour of the Orpheum Theater and the other two theaters in the district. These three theaters all practice an inclusive policy, welcoming everyone from the community. There are seating arrangements, suitable for people with mobility problems. The hearing impaired can view productions with an American Sign Language interpreter and the visually impaired can listen to an audio commentary description. The Orpheum Theater Minneapolis will continue to be a part of the community, offering a varied range of entertainment to local residents and visitors.

A new version of an old favorite…

The future for the theater seems assured with productions lined up for 2008 that are bound to draw the crowds. Old favorites and new entertainment is planned for the Orpheum. February sees the run of the classic musical, My Fair Lady. Jesus Christ Superstar, the hit from Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice, is scheduled in for May. It will feature Ted Neeley as Christ, a role he played in the movie version. A new version of an old favorite will also be featured in May. Spamalot is a musical, created by Eric Idle, based on Monty Python’s Holy Grail movie. It has already enjoyed success in London’s West End and on Broadway.

Johnson and Johnson Contact Lenses

April 17, 2008 By: admin Category: free advice, useful information No Comments →

My eyes had progressively gotten worse…

I went to the restroom and when I came back at sat down in the wrong booth. It took me a minute to realize that I was sitting across from a different guy from my class. That embarrassment kept me wearing my glasses from that time on.When I was a sophomore in college I went in for a routine eye examination. The doctor was concerned because my eyes had progressively gotten worse year after year. He suggested that I start wearing contact lenses to slow the deterioration of my eye sight.

One time I chose not to wear the glasses…

Are you one those people that has had to wear glasses since grade school? I was. I hated having to put the glasses on, however my eye sight was so poor that I could not function in school without them. I would try to go without them on dates and for social functions, but if I went to a movie I could not see the screen and there was no way I could safely drive without them. I remember one date I went on when I chose not to wear the glasses. We went to the local diner where everyone hung out after school.

The care is also very simple…

Twenty six years later I am still wearing Johnson and Johnson contact lenses. I now use the daily wear lenses. I wear them for a month and dispose of them and put in a new pair. There have been vast improvements in the lenses through the years. They are more comfortable and are made out of material that allows the eye to breath. The care is also very simple. The best feature is that the price has come down. I now pay less for a year’s supply of lenses than I paid for one pair when I first started wearing them. It is one of the few things that I am paying less for than I did when I was in college. My sight has basically stayed unchanged through the years also.

I was amazed at how comfortable the fit was…

This was twenty six years ago when soft contact lenses had only been on the market for a short time. In the past when we had discussed contacts he did not think I could wear traditional hard lenses that were on the market at that time because I have a large iris. The lenses were too small to completely cover the iris so my vision would have been marred. He told me that Johnson and Johnson contact lenses had introduced a lens that was soft. The lenses were larger in size. He showed me how to put in a pair of my new Johnson and Johnson contact lenses and checked the fit. I was amazed at how comfortable the fit was and how well I could see. I was so excited that I would not have to wear the glasses any more.

Mikrowave Baked Potato, A Hearty And Nutritious Meal

April 11, 2008 By: admin Category: fun and entertainment, useful information No Comments →

A large potato takes just eight to ten minutes in the microwave…

The microwave baked potato provides the base for your dinner. Rather than wait 45 minutes to an hour for an oven-baked potato, try the microwave baked potato. Some purists claim that a microwave baked potato doesn’t stand up to the oven baked potato because the texture of the finished potato is a little different. Don’t believe it! A large potato takes just eight to ten minutes in the microwave. Be sure it’s fully cooked - that’s the trick to simulating the oven baked potato texture. The microwave baked potato must be punctured with a fork all around, top, bottom and sides. This allows the potato to steam and cook just as its oven-baked counterpart. While your potato is cooking, assemble your dressings. Much like a salad, you can pile leftovers and gourmet goodies to make this meal both a completely tasty and nutritious dinner.

Tasty, filling, nutritious and quick to fix…

It’s just a couple of days before payday and your cupboard is looking pretty slim. The last time you shopped for groceries, every single item on your list had gone up substantially and you had to trim your list accordingly. So what’s for dinner? As the old saying goes, when times get tough, the tough get going. Here’s an idea for dinner that fulfills all of your objectives. Tasty, filling, nutritious and quick to fix. A single large potato, bits of this and that and your microwave will provide a satisfying meal in just minutes.

The neutral flavor of the potato….

Your frig probably holds lots of bits of food that can complement your microwave baked potato meal. Herbs and spices can make this meal more than satisfying. The neutral flavor of the potato makes it a perfect partner for just about anything you want to add.So when you think there’s nothing to eat, get that potato out and build yourself a tasty meal. Your microwave makes it quick and your seemingly bare cupboard will fill in the blanks. Eat hearty!

How about some sliced olives?

A slice of bacon or ham contributes protein. Butter is a necessity. A bit of grated cheese provides calcium. Do you have some parsley, chives or onions? Throw them into the mix. How about some sliced olives? Your microwave baked potato is coming into its own now. Look through your leftovers, too often going to waste. What about that little bit of corn, begging to be used? Pile that on your burgeoning microwave baked potato meal. One mushroom, sliced and sauteed adds a gourmet touch. Hmm. What else? Aha! There’s a spoonful of sour cream. More calcium, with the added bonus of a delicious tasting topping

Reduce Stress,Try Journey to Wild Divine: Wisdom Quest

April 04, 2008 By: admin Category: fitness and healthy living tips, free advice, good gift ideas, useful information No Comments →

It’s impossible to cut out certain people…

If you have toxic people in your life, that is, people who make you feel uncomfortable, bad about yourself, lacking in some way, jumpy, sad, essentially too much negative emotion, limit the amount of time you spend with those people, or cut them out of your life. It’s impossible to cut out certain people like beloved family members and co-workers, but you can in these cases, organize your life in such a way that you spend less time with them than you ordinarily would. And when you do have to spend time with a toxic person, schedule some time with a person whom you find uplifting afterward. It will be a positive antitode.
Stop procrastinating…

There are many ways to reduce stress in your life. Here are some suggestions if you find your tendency to worry if affecting the quality of your life mentally, emotionally and physically.
If you have a problem that needs to be taken care of, stop procrastinating and just do what needs to be done. It may be hard to face, but once it’s dealt with the stress in your life will go way down.

Be done with it for the day, and go about living…

Stay away from caffeine. The temporary boost it gives you isn’t worth its cost in added jumpiness and roller coaster energy swings.Start writing down your thoughts in a journal, both everything that worries you and everything you love about your life (that you can think of in one sitting). Then be done with it for the day, and go about living.

It is imperative to do so…

Try positive visualization and affirmations. There are loads of books on the market with instructions on how to use these powerful tools. Many of us run negative stress-producing thoughts without even realizing we’re doing it 24/7. It is possible to replace these with positive thoughts and mental pictures. In fact, it is imperative to do so to reduce stress and living a more rewarding life.

Go for long walks….

Allow yourself a few minutes each day, a very limited time, to worry to the hilt. Exaggerate your fears and negative mental images. Then when your time’s up. Let is go until your next scheduled worry session.Take a break from the media for a while-TV, radio, newspaper, magazines. Read a good, uplifting book instead, and go for long walks. It’s amazing what even just a few days of this can do to improve your frame of mind. You might want to make it permanent.

Each of us is unique….

Get plenty of exercise. Exercise releases endorphins which make you feel good. It’s also very good for your overall health and can often pop you out of a worried state of mind. It’s also very beneficial for people who have depressive tendencies.Try seeing a counselor or hypnotherapist. There’s nothing quite like having the attention of a trained professional, someone who listens well and has some insights and ideas for you to try. Each of us is unique, and good therapists realize this, knowing that what works to reduce stress for one person isn’t going to work for another person. It’s always good to get a helping hand.
